Beginners Guide

I am a new engineering student with no experience in electronics and basic C programming knowledge. I am not asking for a crash course but I'd like some guidance for a beginners kit to program a motor. I'm guessing all that is needed is a microcontroller and a motor but which are ideal to start?

I am not aware of motors that are programmable, but there are certainly programmable controllers.

 

I assume that what you want to do, is to build a controller for a motor?

The first thing to do is to determine the type of motor that you are going to control. - there are many different types of motor.
